Karen Denise “Punkin” Sims, 39, passed away Feb. 22, 2011.  She was born Feb. 23, 1971 in Norfolk, VA.  She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and worked as an Insurance Agent.  She was predeceased by her mother, Sharon K. Sims.  She is survived by three daughters, Toni Sims, Tonesha Sims and Galvina’ Brooks; three sons, Sharmon
Sims, Shamari Sims and Karon Brooks; her father, William Wilkins; two sisters,
NaSheda Foreman and Tyeisha Days (Dwight); one brother, Shamon Sims; one grandson,
Tony Sims; special friend, Elliott Cox; adopted mother, Andrea Cofield; and a
host of other relatives and friends.

Valjean D. Ferguson, 59, of the 8000 block of W. 34th St. passed away Feb. 20, 2011 in Zion, IL. She was born Nov. 13, 1951 to the late Joseph and Carrie Jenkins in Norfolk, VA. Valjean was employed with Pepsi-Cola for 18 years as a Food Service Onboard Specialist. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ferguson; son, Austin (Dian); daughter, Kori Henderson (Fredmon); four grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Karen); sister, Vanessa; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viola Maude Eccles, 87, entered  into eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George E. Eccles. She is survived by:  daughters, Carolyn Clark (Royal) of Pittsburgh, CA and Valeria Blue of Rural Hall, NC; sons, George F. Eccles (Mildred) of Capital Heights, MD and Woodley Timberlake (Charlene) of Fort Washington, MD; sister-in-law, Lue I. Wilson of Raleigh, NC; thirteen
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a
host of other relatives and friends.

Everette LaFant Justice, “John
aka Bonnie”, 45, of the 300 block of Little Creek Rd. passed away February 15,
2011. He was born August 29, 1965 to John Fant and the late Charlina Crenshaw
Justice in Norfolk, VA. Everette attended Norfolk Public Schools, was a member
of First Baptist Church South Hill, and was employed by BAE Systems as a
Firewatcher. He is survived by one sister, Joanna Boone; three brothers, Alfred Creshaw, Arnold Justice and Gene Justice; and a host of other relatives and friends.
