Myron Kirk Holley, 59 departed on April 5, 2011. He was born July 5, 1951 in Norfolk.  He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Holley; three brothers, James Holley, Robert Brinkley and Lee Holley and a sister, Sharon Puryear.

Myron leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alice Terry-Holley; his most precious gift, a special daughter, Doyin Onawole of Chesapeake; brother, Willie Holley (Elsie) of Norfolk.

Sharon Brooks Smith, 58, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011.  She was predeceased by her parents William and Dorothy Brooks.

Sharon was a member of On Wings of Faith Church of Deliverance.  She is survived by her husband, Neno Smith; two sons, Antoine Brooks (Rhonda) and Keith Brooks (Belinda); three sisters, five brothers, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Sarah Leigh Morris, 86, of 1713 Arlington Ave died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in her home.  A native of Princess Anne County, VA she was a daughter of the late Joe and Ethel Drake, the sister of the late Esther Stevenson and the widow of Hubert S. Morris, Sr.  She was a deaconess of the Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Springfield Ave.

Survivors include one brother, Frederick Drake; three daughters, Elaine B. Wilson of Virginia Beach, Sadie Brehon of Norfolk, Mary Theresa Jacobs of New Jersey; four sons, Eugene Brehon, Clarence Morris,     La-Mar S. Morris and Kelvin L. Morris, all of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Robert Howard Carrington, 59, of the 4700 block of Broad St. passed away April 5, 2011.  He was born October 15, 1951 in Martinsville, VA.  He was predeceased by his father, J. Otis Carrington.

Bob received his BA in Economics from Harvard University.  He was employed for 33 years as a Sales Executive with IBM.  He was a member of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church where he served in the Gideon Ministry and received the 2010 Dedicated Service Award.  He was the 2009 Middle School Volunteer of the Year for Virginia Beach Public Schools.

He is survived by two daughters, Raquel M. Carrington of Washington, D.C. and Deanna C. Allen (Marcus) of Crozier, VA; one son, Robert H. Carrington II of Petersburg; his mother, Margarette C. Hairston; one sister, Rhonda C. Jamison (John) of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Morgan and McKena Allen; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Elston L. Hines

Elston L. Hines

Elston L. Hines, 52, of the 900 block of Johnston Rd. and 1200 block of Commerce Ave. passed away April 2, 2011 at Chesapeake General Hospital. Elston was born Dec. 1, 1958 to the late Esther L. and Eugene W. Hines, Sr. in Norfolk, VA. 

Elston was a 1976 graduate of Norview High School, attended Norfolk State University from 1977-79, and a 1989 graduate of Fayetteville State University. He was employed with HRT and Venture Tour Buses as a bus driver.

He was predeceased by his nephew, Reginald Hines Williams, Sr.

He is survived by his sister, Kathryn H. Williams of Norfolk; two brothers, Eugene W. Hines, Jr. of Middle Island, NY and Henry C. Hines of Hudson, TX; 8 nieces; 2 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
